This is so odd... I have tried everything. I even took the info from the config and put it in an FTP client and was able to log in.

and I get this still I wonder why it's 3 times.

* JFTP::connect: Could not connect to host "www.xxxxxx.us" on port 0

* JFTP::connect: Could not connect to host "www.xxxxxx.us" on port 0

It just doesn't make sense. I have it all set, and it was working before I moved servers.

I added a new FTP username and password and it just isn't working. I thought that the ftp path would be the root, or I even tried the path from the main server (like logs and tmp). and it doesn't work. is there a place that it could be set in another file or something??

Check your global configuration.php file and you have setup a FTP with url = "www.xxxxxx.us" and port 0
Normally the FTP port should be 21 and check all the FTP parameter with a n external FTP tool.
When you are able to login with an extenal tool, consider that you don't have to do any operation or changed directory. If you have to change of directory, you also have to specify it in Joomla.
