TOPIC: Newbie here - installation question
#4748
Newbie here - installation question 14 Years, 5 Months ago Karma: 0
Hi there,
I've installed jms on what will be my master, (fresh joomla install) but can't seem to get the patches going. I've checked all permissions - still, no go.

"# JFolder::create: Could not create directory
# Unable to create destination
# Error during installation of the file "administrator/includes/defines.php"
# Copy failed" and

"One or more backup file is missing. The original file(s) can not be restored."

What is the suggested course of action here?

Thanks & Regards,
GG

As you could read plenty of times in this forum this mean that you have a permission problem.
Check the owner of the file.
Perhaps try using the Joomla FTP Layer to provide an FTP user that could be compatible with the file owner.
Perhaps that your environment use a "apache" or "nobody" or something like that user to manage the file that might be not identical to the one that you would have installed with a FTP user.
