How to move a slave to a seperate Joomla install? 12 Years, 9 Months ago Karma: 0
Hi Edwin,

Can you please let me know if it is possible to 'connect' a current slave site database to a new Joomla installation?

Say for example we want to seperate a slave site from the master site (and setup the slave site as a stand-alone Joomla website), is this possible?

If this is possible, what would be the proceedure?

Would we simply need to install a fresh copy of Joomla with all the same extensions, make sure they are the same version number and then just change the database connection to the slave site?

Thanks and regards.

Yes this is possible.
We already explained that in the forum
