JMS 1.1.x is design to work as both fresh install and upgrade.
So if you you have a current JMS version (1.0.x or 1.1.x), you can install it as you do usually with Joomla extension / install.
This will install or replace the current version.

I get the following error.

* The version of the extension is not identical to the one installed by the master site.
* (Found version: '1.1.8' expected: '1.1.7')
* Install Component Error

It appears not to install the 1.1.8?
