Unable to create target folder 15 Years, 2 Months ago Karma: 0
upon creating a slave site, i get this error:

Code:

 -1 - An error has occurred.

Unable to create target folder



the whole page is blank otherwise

joomla permissions all look ok
multisites folder is also writiable.

any ideas please!?

To be writable is not enough, you have also to check the owner and group of the files.
You can also try to use chmdo 777 to give all permission.
If this is on Windows platform, you also have to check the security.

Hello,
I still get the same message with the folders permissions set to 777 and the same groupe as the others.

What else can be wrong?

The error message "Unable to create target folder" is a standard Joomla message returned when it is not possible to create a folder.
Unfortunatelly (and probably for security reason), Joomla does not display the path of the folder that can not be created.

This is probably a permission problem is despite of what you say.
To bypass the permission problem, you can try using the Joomla FTP Layer.
See tutorial step 15.
