TOPIC: Domain transfer
#14233
Domain transfer 6 Years, 8 Months ago Karma: 0
Hi,

we bought multisite plugin. We have a main domain and 3 slave site like:
mydomain.com
mydomain.com/slave1
mydomain.com/slave2

now we want to move the installation to mydomain2.com
mydomain2.com
mydomain2.com/slave1
mydomain2.com/slave2

We have a second entry on virtualhost to point to the mydomain2.com domain. The main domain is ok, but the subdomains (mydomain2.com/*) redirect to the main domain.

What should we change to have this working on the new domain ? doesn't matter if it doesn't work in the old domain.

Thank you !

First, the master website is any domain or subdomain that does NOT appears as a slave site.

I don't know if you are using the same account (ie cPanel account) for the domains but in this case, you could resolve the relationship between the domain name and the "document root" to point on the existing place. (In cPanel, you can use "Addon Domain")

If you manage the virtual host manually, just define the mydomain2.com to point on the existing document root of mydomain.com.

In JMS, you just have to change in the slave site definition the list of domain and subdirectory for which it is assocated.

The definition of the JMS "Manage site" and "virtual host" must match.
