TOPIC: Error in multi sites menu item
#634
Error in multi sites menu item 15 Years, 8 Months ago Karma: 0
Code:

Fatal error: Call to a member function setQuery() on a non-object in /home/tomr/domains/proguide.nl/public_html/jmsmaster/components/com_multisitesmenuitem/models/redirect.php on line 73

Tis is the error when I try to create a menu item in my slave site to a menu item in my master site.

Is my multi site setup wrong?: I have by manage sites only my two slave sites setup, nit the master site. Because if I setup my master site it want to do a new install ( and I am noty able to install componnents ( because it does not recognize the site as master ).

I think that this message error may occurs when the Slave Sites that is refered by the menu does not exisits anymore.
Suppose you have defined a menu item Z that use the slave X menu item Y.
If you remove the slave X, then the menu item Z could produce this error due to missing slave X.

Check if the referenced websites still exists.

I am not referencing a menu item from a slave site but from the master site.

jmsslave1.proguide.nl/index.php?option=c...temid=55&lang=en

I reference a menu item from a slave site I works well!

jmsslave1.proguide.nl/index.php?option=c...temid=56&lang=en

So I am missing the point of Multi Menu Items??

I am getting this same error (although of course my path is different). I am calling from the slave site to the master site.

Also, there is another error, as I am in the parameters to pick the site:

Warning: Call-time pass-by-reference has been deprecated; If you would like to pass it by reference, modify the declaration of [runtime function name](). If you would like to enable call-time pass-by-reference, you can set allow_call_time_pass_reference to true in your INI file in /home/content/d/r/e/dressagedaily/html/administrator/components/com_multisitesmenuitem/elements/multisitesmenuitem.php on line 45

However when I go in to view "allow_call_time_pass_reference" - I can't find it in that file location.

Thoughts?

Concerning the error on line 45 "allow_call_time_pass_reference" , I confirm the error due to PHP compatibility (deprecated syntax).
I will fix it in the next release of multi sites menu item version 1.0.1.

Concerning the other error on line 73 and DB error, this is due to site that is not found.
Can you give more information on your environment. Do you use SH404SEF ?
Perhaps the URL is not correctly restored and cause the problem ?
