is it possible then to have JMS + Jomsocial and:

* share the same user table
* each site keeps its own jomsocial configuration

I don't understand with JMS what is shared and what is not shared

When we use the word SHARE, this really mean share and not "duplicate with synchronization".
JMS does NOT duplicate the data.

So if you want to share the content of JomSocial, this is possible with JMS.
This means that all the #__community_% tables will be shared except the "config" one.

When you share the content of JomSocial, this also require to share the Joomla users.
And therefore, the #__user% tables and #__sessions and some other are also shared.

That mean that physically, MySQL will have the same data present in the different websites because the table will be unique in MySQL and not duplicated.

So if you requirement is just to have the JomSOcial configuration specific for each site, then yes this is possible as JMS propose a sharing of JomSocial exclusing its configuration.

Thanks but what if I want to ONLY SHARE the users (joomla + jomsocial). The config and the contents of the Jomsocial websites have to be separated
