Pre-Sales questions... 11 Years, 7 Months ago Karma: 0
Just a few questions before I go ahead and make a purchase::

1. I will have several master templates on my site which will be used for customers. I would like customers to select their master, but also be able to select the name of the sub-domain created for them. I would also like to be able to have a folder created for each order - the folder name would be the SAME as the sub-domain that the customer created when purchasing.

e.g.
Enter your sub-domain name:_______________________

this would then be used for the folder name aswell as the sub domain.
Is this possible within JMS2win?
Are the sub-domains visible in CPanel/WHM ?

2. Can a customer set their own admin username and password when making a purchase, or does every copy have the same admin login details?

3. I would like to have placeholder images/articles in the new sites created using jms2win - These would be set up in the master template I assume. Is it possible for the customer to have these placeholders AND all extensions that were in the master template included and present the first time they visited their new site?
The customer sites( Sub-domains) would NOT be set up to share users or any future content they entered.

4. I have seen on several videos on your tutorials the 'buy quota' button.
Quotas are necessary for selling subscription-based sales (requiring monthly/annual payments) ?
There is no mention on the site of the COST of these quotas, and they dont seem to be in your e-shop. Could you please give me a cost breakdown?

1) Yes this is possible to create website based on a "template website" and also create it in a subdomain.
It is also possible to setup WHM & cPanel to automatically recognize the subdomain.

See for example our www.mywebsite2win.com that do that.

2) Yes it is possible to allow the user create their own admin user and password.
See the tutorial video 14(s) and 13(s) that illustrate some cases of website creation from the front-end.
www.jms2win.com/en/tutorial#jms13x-14b

3) Yes it is possible to have specific images and templates folders.
See tutorial video CP-05
www.jms2win.com/en/tutorial#jms12x-CP-05

4) Quota is per website and no limited in the time.
Quota is something that is purchased inside your jms installation and the price depends on your current quota.
To give you a range, it start at 1.5 EUR per site to reach 0.30 EUR per site when you exceed 1,000 websites and buy a pack of 1,000 websites.

NO as you can create free websites from the front-end.
In this case, the quota is not required.

Actually... have one last question:
Is there any check done at the purchase point to see if the subdomain is already taken/used?
On your site, the sub-domain(prefix) is limited to 8 characters. Is that a hard rule or is this number changeable?

Thanks for your thorough answers so far...

JMS does not check the domain or sub-domain.
It checks that the Site ID is not already used.

When you create a website that has the Site ID = subdomain then you have this check that is done.
