TOPIC: Pre-sale questions

Pre-sale questions 11 Years, 11 Months ago Karma: 0
(I just found your "list-of-extsions" and noticed that it is divided between "install" and "sharing". My questions that follow pertain to installing and maintaining multiple accounts more so than sharing. Thank you ahead of time for your patience.)

I have four basic questions that I'd like to explore.

1)Can I use JMS2WIN on more than 1 primary domain or do I need to license multiple copies of the program?

2)Are the following extensions compatible with the program? JomSocial, DT Register, EasyBlog, RSForm!, RSFiles!, AcyMailing, JCE editor, Kunena, K2, ProjectFork, Virtuemart, Akeeba Admintools Pro, Akeeba Backup Pro, Akeeba Subscriptions.

3)Is JMS2WIN compatible with JoomlaBamboo themes?

4)Any known GoDaddy challenges to overcome?

Thanks you for your time and consideration.

1) As you can read on the home page and product detail, you can install JMS an unlimited number of times and register it an unlimited number of times.
So you can install it on a dev environment and also in a live environment.

2) See the list of extension that are currently defined in the JMS tool menu.
www.jms2win.com/en/list-of-extensions?vi...id=269&Itemid=53

3) I don't know for this template company.
Some template companies may have issues when they create their own framework to bypass the standard joomla framework.
I don't know if this is the case of this JoomlaBamboo themes.

4) JMS can be installed on godaddy shared hosting (linux platform).

Regarding question number 3. JMS2WIN compatibility with JoomlaBamboo themes

Can I test/verify functionality?

To test yourself, you need to buy JMS.
If you want that we do some verification, send us a copy of the template that you would like to use.
You can find our email in the contact us

I'm still stumbling through this at a snails pace but I'm understanding things more. (I think.)

I'm fairly certain from going through the manual that slave sites can have there own unique image folders and therefore appear and function the same way as a standalone Joomla site but would like to verify that with you.

If that is true can it be achieved with 1 master database or would I need to create multiple databases. If I need to create multiple databases can I still update site core files and extensions from a master site?

I read somewhere that I needed symlinks to achieve the unique image folders. I don't know if that's true, but I went ahead and verified that symlinks work with my hosting provider. So, I know that I'm good to go if needed.

Thanks for your time. It's amazing how many different variations there are to using your program.

1) Yes you can create wehsites with the own "/images" directory.
This is illustrated in tutorial video CP-05
www.jms2win.com/en/tutorial#jms12x-CP-05

2) Yes you can use a single DB.
In this case, under joomla 1.5, we recommend to never use the "jos_" table prefix for the master website in case where you would use the default (jos_) prefix when creating a slave site.
Under Joomla 2.5, this recommendation is not required as Joomla generate a random table prefix.

3) In general, yes it is recommended to have the symbolic link available to have a specific "/images" directory because almost no extension are reading the configuration of the "media manager" that specify the images path.
We recommend using the Symbolic Links. So if they are available, this is an excellent news.
