Hi,

Getting a little discouraged here.

Just downloaded com_multisites_V1.2.49.zip from the download link.

When I try to install it into Joomla! 1.5.22 I get an error uploading the file.
Media upload limit is set to 10MB.

I then logged onto the server and unzipped it into a tmp folder and used the Install From Directory method.

This just gives me a blank white screen in my browser after a few seconds and nothing more.

Multisites is *not* installed.

What to do?

JMS Multisites is a package of 2.8 MB that is sometime difficult to install on server that does not allow to upload large files.
Parameter that can affect that (an not limitative) are :
upload_max_filesize
post_max_size
max_execution_time

When this happen, you can try installing from a directory like explained in the video
tutorial.jms2win.com/joomla/multisite-12...stall-from-directory

When you have a "blank page", this might be the symptom of a permission error.
In this case, you can search in a "error_log" file the reason of the error.

Permission issue, can sometimes be solved when using the joomla "FTP Layer" to ensure that all files and folders are owned by the same users.

So check also the ownership of the files and folders.
Some environment may have different owners of the files and folder. In this case, this is the symptom of a wrong HTTP Server configuration. In this case, contact your hosting company.

Thanks! It must have been a permissions thing.
I moved the unzipped package up one directory and it went right in.
Still don't know why it wouldn't upload.
I have complete control of this server and all of the upload limits are 10GB.
max_execute_time is not an issue as it fails immediately upon clicking install.
Also, I did try this at the data center where it is hosted, I work there, connected at 1gig.
Using the directory install worked great once I got the files into an accessible directory.
Thanks for your help!
