TOPIC: Creating slave site w/specific folders

Creating slave site w/specific folders 14 Years, 1 Month ago Karma: 0
Joomla Multi Sites version: 1.2.26 (Latest available: 1.2.26)
Patches definition version: 1.2.32 (Latest available: 1.2.32)

The process in the following tutorial no longer works:

tutorial.jms2win.info/joomla/multisite-1...ges-media/index.html

I experienced a simliar problem in previous version we were running so I downloaded & installed v1.2.6 to correct this issue. However, I am still receiving a script error after attempting to create a new site, correctly filling in Site ID (*), List of domain names (*): , Deployed directory:, New Themes folder: and then selecting my template from the Templates picklist. The last step (selecting a template) is what actually results in the following script error and the additional fields (specifically, New DB table Prefix field) are not revealed (as shown at the 4:24 mark in the tutorial video). This functionality worked fine in an earlier version that we had; can't remember exactly what version that was.

Line: 486
Char: 1
Error: Object Expected
Code: 0
URL: <oursite>/administrator/index.php?option=com_multisites

Please send me a fix for this ASAP. Thanks.

Sorry but you say that there is an error but do not provide the file name.
So give the full error message including the file name that produce the error.

Is this the javascript in the browser or the PHP code on the server ?

If this is in your browser, perhaps you could try with another browser.

The error I included above is complete and is client-side javascript error in IE v7.0.5730.13. (Note: This functioned properly in same version of IE with earlier version of Multi-sites.)

Full URL listed in the script error is www.fdwebbuild.com/administrator/index.p...tion=com_multisites.

Also tried this in Firefox v3.2.6 and received the below errors in Error Console:

When clicking "New" to create a new site:

Error: invalid regular expression flag v
Source File: www.fdwebbuild.com/administrator/index.p...ption=com_multisites
Line: 268, Column: 117
Source Code:
<b>Warning</b>: is_dir() [<a href='function.is-dir'>function.is-dir</a>]: open_basedir restriction in effect. File(/var/logs) is not within the allowed path(s): (/home/fdwebbuild/:/tmp:/usr/local/lib/php/) in <b>/home/fdwebbuild/domains/fdwebbuild.org/pu

When selecting a template:

Error: refreshTemplateDir is not defined

The full error message tell you clearliy that you have restriction on your server to access some directories.
It is not allowed to check a directory.

This may be resulting of a wrong setup of joomla.
Check the "global configuratoin" and the logs path.
Perhaps it is mentioned "/var/logs" that does not exists.
