Can not access slavesites 12 Years, 6 Months ago Karma: 0
Hi Edwin

I have moved my joomla installation to the root of my folder, so I can connect my website without write /Joomla.

The problem is now, that I can not connect any of my slave sites in Site Manager. site or admin)

I have changes any file, I can find, to the root folder.

I try new installation too. Not helping.

Can you please help?

I can add new slavesite - is works. But not access all the old.

Regards
Simon

If you have move the master website location on the disk, you need to rebuild all the symbolic link on the disk to reflect the new location on the disk.

See the FAQ concerning the manual backup/restore procedure.
www.jms2win.com/en/faq/faq-joomla-multi-sites#cat-268

In summary, you have to delete all the symbolic link and go in JMS "site manageer" to open and resave each slave site.

Check the content in the "/multisites/config_multisites.php"
Potentially delete the "master" cookies and master directory path.

Delete all the symbolic links present in each slaves sites "deployed directory".

Delete the "index.php" and "index2.php" present in the root of each "deployed directory".

I delete the "index.php" and "index2.php" present in the root of each "deployed directory". And the "master" cookies and master directory path.

But Im not sure which files the symbolic links is? I checked in the folder. What kind of files?

When I resave the each slave site in 'site manager', it says the folder already exist.

If you are using a SSH terminal and the "ls -l" command, you should see the files like
administrator -> /home/account/joomla/administrator
where the -> show this is a link.

You can also see the letter L near the permission (ie lrwx------)

Which is exactly the message that you had with "folder already exists".
Is this a symbolic link error message ?

I suppose yes.

If you try to deploy a slave site that has wrong symbolic link or for which you request a link that is in fact a physical directory, JMS report you an error.

So you have to verify each files or folders that are reported by JMS.

I used putty terminal for first time.

After login I get the window popup [~] #

Then what? How can I see files here

I try SFTP, but can't see the symbolic link there..

To see the current directory, enter "pwd" (print working directory)
To change of directory, enter "cd XXXXXX" where XXXXX is the directory in which you want to go.

To list the files in a directory, use "ls -l"
This will list all the files and folders.
Sometimes, you may need to list also the hidden files. Use "ls -l"

For details (the MANual) on the commands, you can also use "man ls" or "man cd"

To logout, use "exit".

To change to permission of a file or folder, use "chmod 777" where 777 is the new permission
To change the owner of a file or folder, use "chown file_user:group_user XXXX" where file_user and group_user are generaly the parameter that you can find when using the "ls -l"
