TOPIC: Error After Patching
#9949
Error After Patching 12 Years, 8 Months ago Karma: 0
After patching multi-site, I'm receiving this error:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_PUBLIC in /home/content/84/8086284/html/loe/configuration.php on line 3

This shows for the frontend and the backend. I'm using Joomla 2.5 and have included an images of the top portion of the configuration.php, so that you can see what it looks like. Let me know if you need more information or access. I'm new to web design, and our webmaster recently had to take leave from our company, so I'm trying to get the site back up and running as soon as possible. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Is it possible to uninstall multi-site using ftp access? If anyone has any direction, it would be most helpful. I didn't experience this until installing the component. I'd like to return to single page functionality until I can resolve the issue.

Can you give a clear copy of the configuration file.

Your server mentioned a syntax error in line 3 but this screenshot does not help identifying which is the line no 3

Do you have specifial character present in your site name or other special character at other place.

You have a backup of the original file that is saved in the /administrator/components/com_multisites/backup directory.

In addition, you mentioned that you are using Joomla 2.5 and I suspect that you are not using the latest JMS version 1.2.86.
You need at least JMS 1.2.82 to be compatible with Joomla 2.5.4

The error was resolved. I found that the opening class specification was somehow removed.
