Issue with slave sites using subdirectory 13 Years, 1 Month ago Karma: 0
Hi,

I'm trying to setup my slave sites via a template to deploy in sub-directories so that I don't need to make any changes to the domains.

The issue is that I cannot view my slave sites after they have been created. I've tried a number of different configurations however I think the issue is that the slave subdirectories are not pointing to the master directory. Should this be automatically handled in JMS2Win or is this a manual configuration?

When I try use the domain www.mydomain.com/master/multisites/slave1 I get a 404 page error and when I use the domain www.mydomain.com/master/slave1 I get a blank white page. Both of these have been setup under 'domains' in the site manager.

Please can someone offer me some advice to resolve this issue?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Which are the definition of the slave site.
What do you put in the "domain" field and what do you put in the "deploy folder" field?

If you want to have the website created in domains.com/slave1 then use the following setting.

Domain = {site_url}/{site_id}
Deploy folder = {root}/{site_id}
Create folder = ON

When the slave site is created, verify that the direct /slave1 is correctly created and that you have plenty of symbolic links present in this directory.

Hi Edwin,

Thanks for that information. It solved my issue - I can now view the slave website.

Thanks again.
