TOPIC: trouble installing

trouble installing 13 Years, 6 Months ago Karma: 0
I have installed a fresh copy of joomla 1.6, Jomsocial 2.2, and JMS on a zend server to learn how to configure this appropriately before i launch it live on my website. Apparently Zend server (windows) does not allow symbolic link which is fine because i believe my hosting does not allow it either (GoDaddy). When I created the slave site from the back end JMS created a directory for it but the directory when linked to does not contain anything relevant and the page that is displayed is completely blank. The only thing in the new directory are 3 files:
cache folder, index.html, and config_multisites.php.

What am i doing wrong?

For reference and a better way to assist me these are the current directories:

master: C:\Program Files\Zend\Apache2\htdocs\jt

server address: localhost/jt

slave: C:\Program Files\Zend\Apache2\htdocs\jt\multisites\jt2

server address: localhost\jt\multisites\jt2

Godaddy linux shared hosting accept the symbolic link (delux and unlimited plan).
This is also ok when using a linux platform.

When the symbolic link is not allowed, you can defined subdomain or domain that are associated to the same directory than your master website.

So if you master is located in
C:\Program Files\Zend\Apache2\htdocs\jt

Then you slave subdomain and domain must associated to this same
C:\Program Files\Zend\Apache2\htdocs\jt

Not into another directory. So not in 'multisites/jt'

All depends the HTTP Server that you are using.
If you are using IIS, see the FAQ that show how to setup a domain or a subdomain
www.jms2win.com/en/faq#sec-112
You can also use Virtual Directory in IIS.

If you are using another system like WAMP, you have to update the httpd.conf or other httpd-vhosts.conf, ..., or "alias" configuration file. See the WAMP configuration.
