We are having following error while updating patches in our site.

JFolder::create: Could not create directory
Unable to create destination
Error during installation of the file "administrator/includes/defines.php"
Copy failed

We have patched the files earlier also. But Everything was fine earlier now we are facing this issue.

We have all files permission as 777.

Please let us know how to go about this one!

If you are sure that the file permission is 777 then perhaps you have the Joomla FTP Layer enabled with a login password that is no more valid or you have an FTP Root directory that is no more valid.

Joomla FTP layer is not enabled, After changing permission of few folders we finally got only one single error, Please advise us how to go about this one.

If the FTP is not enabled, try using it to install the patch.

I suspect a problem of ownership somewhere in a directory the forbid the operation.
Once the patch is installed with the FTP Layer, you could disable it again.
