TOPIC: Creating a Website template

Edwin -

I am using the following

PHP Built on: Linux phoenix 2.6.32-24-generic-pae #43-Ubuntu SMP
Database Version: 5.1.41-3ubuntu12.6
Database Collation: utf8_general_ci
PHP Version: 5.3.2-1ubuntu4.5
Web Server: Apache
Web Server to PHP interface: apache2handler
Joomla! Version: Joomla! 1.5.21 Stable [ senu takaa ama wepulai ] 08-October-2010 18:00 GMT

I operate a very large network consisting of 10 individual domains.

I would like to use EVERYTHING from the primary domain to feed the remaining ones and that updating content on the primary domain updates the remaining ones. The exception is that each of the remaining domains need to have the capability of using their OWN template and MENU.

I have purchased the following JMS interfaces

(obviously) Jms Multisite for joomla! Version 1.2
Articles sharing Version 1.0 for Joomla Multi Sites
Multi Sites Menu Item for Joomla Multi Sites
Multisites Content Modules Version 1.0.0

I have pulled ALL the documentation for the above, read through the primary Multisite docs and that is where I get stuck.

I have my own server and the domains and can create as much (or as little) as is needed directory wise. BUT I am confused as to exactly HOW to put this ALL together. Previously I had modified Mambo 4.5.2 to make everything work so in that regard I am not a dummy... I simply need a better understanding of item 3.2.2 Create a new 'Slave' site on page 14 in the section - "share the whole site"

Thank you in advance

Perhaps you could have a look in the tutorial video CP-05 that show how to have a specific templates directory.
See also the tutorial video 0.b - slide 34 that show the different variant to share the templates directory, share partially the template director or simply have a copy of the tempalte directory.
www.jms2win.com/tutorial#jms12x-CP-05
www.jms2win.com/tutorial#jms12x-0b

A basic website creation is show in the tutorial video 9 or CP-04.

www.jms2win.com/tutorial#jms12x-CP-04

Concerning the sharing of the menu, it is only possible to share the menu item (not the full menu). This is what the "Multisites Menu Item" is doing.

If you follow the tutorial video step by step, this should give you a better understanding on how JMS Multisites is working
