Problem Installing Components on a Slave 13 Years, 9 Months ago Karma: 0
Hi Edwin,

I have every thing working fine, meanwhile when I try to install a component into a slave site I always get the message that it is not installed in the master and that I should installed it their first, but the component is installed correctly in the master.
I had the same problem with the templates but I understand I had to copy the folder and it's path for slave sites and that works ok, but I can not install regular components. I tried changing the symbolic link to a copy of the components folder in each slave but that did not work for me.

Please advice,

thankyou.

As the message tells you, you have to install the extension in the master website before to re-install it into the slave site.

It is NOT allowed to install an extension in a slave site that is not already present in the master.

So start to install the extension in the master and after you can re-install it into the slave.

As explained in the tutorial video 0.b slide 21, you have to consider the master website like a repository or a library containing all the extensions used by the slave sites.

Thankyou, It is already installed in the master but reading in the forum I think the problem is that Multisites is no compatible with Rockettheme Gantry. Is that right? and why dosn't it work?

thankyou.

YES Rockethemes declined to fix the Gantry framework.
Rockethemes has redevelop the joomla framework that they called Gantry and that is include in each themes.
Rockethemes were contacted and they declined to fix their framework.

Our company is not responsible to fix all the themes developped using gantry if the author declined to do it.

Hi Edwin

Ah, finally understand why I'm having problems. Rocketthemes are the problem.

I've been a member of their site for years, is there anything I can do to persuade them to change their mind?

If so, what question should I be asking them?

Thanks for a great component.

Regards

Keith
