problem with configuration slave site 13 Years, 10 Months ago Karma: 0
ok, i have a yellow pages site with sobi2, eventlist, agora forum and oter coponents and modules running for a regional area.
i want offer for other regions (slave) sites with particular content and specific parts from the sobi2-db. i want to use the same basic-template with modified logo etc., but other main-menus and share some content.
i want use differnet databases, because i think it´s better for security. ?

after configuring the jms ( symbolic links on apache server in use) like tutorial i have to map the slave-site to: http:// myserver.de/multisites/slavesite

if i do so, i can´t install the joomla on the slave site.
if i map to http:// myserver.de/ i can install, but it is not the path
wich is given in the documentation?!

which way is the right one?

Did you used a domain or subdomain for your slave site.
If YES, did you specifed a document root or path in your HTTP server to specify where is located this domain or subdomain.

If YES, you have to use the same location in the slave site definition "deploy folder".
See the tutorial video CP-04 that illustrate this case with cPanel and subdomain
