Trouble...domain.com as master in user sharing 13 Years, 10 Months ago Karma: 0
I need support how to configure mydomain.com as master and subdomain.mydomain.com as slave. how to apply user sharing between site. Your video tutorial only explain how to sharing user between subdomain.mydomain.com and subdomain.mydomain.com/sub_directory/

I tried to make template first, according video tutorial, next I create slave site with template created before..but it's not worked...

my hosting support symbolic link..My sub domain created as alias...

best regards

Note: if I create slave site without user sharing mode...(no template), slave joomla installation running normally.

When you say it does not works, what does not work ?
Which is/are the error message or results.
Do you have MySQL error when creating the links ?

Yes! It's works...it's only about folder permission...Your Extension is great & powerfull

but I have several questions...I want use the same joomla template for master site and each slave site..but I want logo site different each other..it's possible?

and what is difference between copy:copy the folder and file and special: Special copy...

best regards

Copy means copy (duplicate, replicate, clone).
Special Copy depends on the environment and settings of your server
On windows this do a copy
On Linux with symbolic link forbidden = copy
On Linux with Symbolic Link allowed = link

When Special copy is combined with a "specific folder", the behavior might be different and might be "partial sharing".

Read the users manual
See also tutorial video 1.b - slide 31-34

So YES you can share the same /templates directory and also have specific logo.
For specific logo, this depends on your template and may need some update of the CSS or template itself. Some template are using modules to display the logo or params.ini or is hardcoded in PHP or CSS. So this depends on the template itself.

hi ...

finally i change scenario...

here is new scenario..

subdomain1.mydomain.com as master

and www.mydomain.com as slave1

I plan to use slave1 as template to user sharing between site (subdomain2.mydomain.com etc)

how to configure mydomain.com as virtual domain...should I request to hosting provider..to change config

or you have another scenario the best one

Best Regards

As you don't have provided any information on the environment, this is difficult to reply to you.
Start to give info.

On Windows IIS, see FAQ for the configuration
www.jms2win.com/faq#sec-112
On Linux and cPanel see tutorail video CP-04
www.jms2win.com/tutorial#jms12x-CP-04
....

This is environment specific and related to your hosting provider environment.
The only think that JMS Multisites provide you is the possibility to use the Symbolic Link when your hosting provider required to have the subdomain located into a speciifc directory.
Becarefull that on Windows platform, the Symbolic Link is not allowed.
