TOPIC: replicating the slave folder in slave directory
#4700
replicating the slave folder in slave directory 14 Years, 5 Months ago Karma: 0
Hi,

Whenever I create a slave site with the following information:

Site ID = slave1
Domain = {site_url}/{site_id}
Deploy directory = {root}/{site_id}
Create directory when not exists = ON (click on the check box).

I succeeded in creating the slave site. But what I found is, in the directory "slave1" I see the slave1 and multisites sub-directory again and it goes into recursion.

Am I doing something wrong? Please suggest.

thanks in adv.

When there is a link on the multisites directory, it can be normal to have an infinite recursion loop.

To avoid the loop, you can deploy the slave site into a directory beside the master.

If you don't setup a JMS Template that define the directories that must be "symbolic link" and ignored.
Perhaps you could "ignore" the slave1 directory

Review the concept in slide 30 to 35 present in the tutorial video 0.b
www.jms2win.com/tutorial#jms12x-0b

Ignore mean that you don't want to have the directory created in the slave site.
Symbolic Link means that you want to have a link in the slave site directory that point to the same "physical" directory present in the master website.

This allow you to control the new directory structure of your slave site.
