How to add article to seperate domain? 14 Years, 6 Months ago Karma: 0
Hi all,
I am a little confused and need your help now please.

We want to run a set of websites. All will use Joomla. Each domain will display different articles, no article will be visible on multiple domains.

My admin told me we need to buy JMS Mutlisite, so we bought jms2win v1.2 .

We registered multiple domains, added them as domain alias to the main domain on the web server.
Admin installed joomla and jms2win v1.2

If I go to joomla admin section -> Components -> Multisite -> Site Manager , I add a new domain. Settings:
SiteID: "cars"
Status: Confirmed
Owner: -Owners- (no change)
List of Domain names: www.[xxxx].com ([xxx] is our car domain)
Every other setting: as is.
I am not able to add/change anything in the database setting, no idea why.

I can access the car domain now but I see the content from the main domain. What do I need to do to add articles only for the new domain? Do we need a different product maybe?

Thank you, regards
M

If you want to have access to the DB parameters when you define a slave site, you need to define a JMS templates rule where you will specify the replication rule.
In the "manage site", you will select the "template site" that describe the website that must be replicate.

You can only have the access to the DB parameter when you have something to replicated.
Otherwise, this let you create a fresh slave site

See tutorial video 9 that show you how to create a fresh slave site.
If you want to replicate website, you can be inspired from the tutorial video 13, 16, CP-05

Thanks for your answer, unfortunately I don't understand what you mean.

Above I described what I want to do. DOes this mean for jm2 I replicate a website or do a fresh slave site?

The tutorial videos are pretty useless, as I can't even see the settings. If I go to Multisites -> Settings, I only See: Unix Symbolic Links: Forbidden, MySQL says Shareing supported.

Below it says: Billable Webistes: Website count: 0, quato: 0... and I can "Buy quota"... nothing of this answers my questions above: Can I do what I want with the Product I have bought? Whehn do I need to buy a website quota/what is it needed for? Why Can I add a new website in Multisite, run the installation on the new domain, but after a successful installation, I see only the installation again?
