Hi

I bought jms about a week ago and have been struggling my @$$ off to get everything working, please help me.

I want to create the following: www.masterwebsite.com/multisites/test1

with test1 as my slavesite.

I've created everything but when I type in the above url I get the following list:
config multisites.php
hello.php
hello.txt
and two folders:
multisites & plugins

I've I open the two hello files, both work.
Am I still on the right track, is something missing and what should I do to get to the Joomla Installation page to create the slavesite (will be different content and different Joomla template then master).

If you see thoses files this means that you probably received an error when you save the slave site or that you don't have the Symbolic Link functionality available or that you have not filled the "deploy folder" paramters.

You say that hello.php is working but with which result ?
Windows ?
Linux ?
Symbolic Link allowed or forbidden ?

I think I were able to create my first slavesite. Maybe the following might help someone that wants to create a similar structure. You can tell me if it's not correct.

The structure I wanted:
www.masterwebsite.com/multisites/test1
with test1 as my slavesite.

I used the following parametres:
Site id = test 1
domain name e.g = www.masterwebsite.com/multisites/test1
Deployed Directory = copy the exact path as specified in "master site directory" and with my example add "/multisites/test1" to create the full path reference.

Then leave "create deploy directory" open - don't tick the box and click "save".

You will be taken to the summary page of "Manage Sites". If you click on one of your specified domains you will get to the Joomla Installation page. After that, as in VideoTut 9, you use the same username & password as Master website, just change table prefix in Advanced Settings to e.g dslave1_ and install as normal.

If the above is right, I think the mistake I made was with the {sitedir} - I did not understand your format reference, I only put "multisites/test1" in the deployment field and not the full path because I thought it would be added to the master site directory field.

I hope this is correct.

If you had a look in the bleu (I)con for the info, you would have read that you have to enter a full path and not a relative path.
The {site_dir} is a keyword that compute the value as explained in the yellow light (buble help).
