What do you mean by JMS wants to re-install Joomla.

When you install JMS on an existing website, it patches some files and re-install the "install" directory that is required to create new fresh slave sites.

It is not possible to link existing "foreign" website to JMS.
You have to move the existing website as slave site under JMS.
This is a manual task that moreless consists in rebuilding the website from scratch.
The idea is to install all the required extension on the master website and after re-use the existing DB that assume that the extension are already installed.
You will also have to copy the specific files (images, video, ...) into the new website.

You don't have to rebuild sites from scratch. All you have to do is drop tables from your new Multisites installation that are not shared, and import those from your old site. (content, categories, docman, sef, etc). Don't drop your components tables and other core things, just what you need to get content working.
If it is a Joomla 1.0 site, drop the tables and use MTWMigrator.
Make sue your images, etc are copied over and "voila" - your new site is a clone of your old site. I have done this on about 5 sites now.

It is not a waste of money. It is just not as easy as point and click.

Hello,
I just bought JMS 1.2 and uploaded the component. Everything looked fine until I registered it. It said that the registration was complete but then I also go this message:
" * Some patches are not installed.
* Please check patches and proceed with patch installation to allow mutlisites working properly."

Please see attached screenshot - Thanks

If patches are not installed, go in the "Check patches" and click on the "install" button.
This operation must be performed from the master website.

There is no screenshot attachement.
