Hi Edwin,

I am trying to plan the best way to backup my multisites setup.

I've been looking at your weekly cron shell script however it does not cover the best method to backup multiple slave databases.

Can you please let me know how we could easily include all slave databases within the backup?

You can easily modify the script to backup several DBs in one shot and get a backup of your master and all your slave sites in one shot.

Rather than to use a specific DB, you can use --all-databases

What DB login credentials would I use? The Root User?

What modifications do I need to make to backup all the slave sites in one shot?

What would the restore process look like? Do you have a FAQ on how to safely restore all the files and databases on a new server?

To perform a backup of all DB, you must effectivelly use the cPanel MySQL user that provide a kind of "root" for you cPanel "all" MySQL database or use the MySQL root of you server - but in this case, I suspect that this will backup all the DB of all the cPanel accounts.

Concerning the restore see the FAQ.
The restore is manual.

Hi Edwin,

Can you confirm if your backup script can be modified to send the backup to an external storage system like Amazon S3 cloud storage?

Also, I've noticed that in the latest version of Akeeba the configuration contains the ability to backup symbolic links. If I send you the latest pro version of Akeeba can you test to see if it now works with JMS?
