we are in a process of setting up a website that will allow us to create and setup slave sites from external a external server.

i know mysql queries can be done... but my understanding so far is that multisites is all based in files for configuration... so how we do go for patching the files...
can we just post to one php file on the server that will take care of the things??

Sorry but I don't understand your question.

The concept of JMS is to share the same Joomla installation PHP code files and folders.
So joomla is present only once for all the websites and the patches are installed in the single joomla.

So all the websites must be on the same server.

Sorry for the confusion.

Here is what we need:

We have a website with billing and support programs hosted.
www.xyzbillingsupport.com


Another website with joomla and multsites installed/setup.
www.xyzmulsitiessetup.com


We need:
To Create a new multisite remotely from xyzbillingsupport.com

However, the master and the slave sites will both be on xyzmultisitessetup.com but we just need the replication process to be remote.

May be we can do a post something like this.
xyzmulsitessetup.com/createsite.php?site_id=joe&user_id=786&timestamp=15478154

I don't undertand what you are trying to do.

The concept of JMS is to share the same joomla installation (the same files and folders on the disk).

So try creating a slave site remotely will break the assuption that you have the slave site and master website on the same server and that you are using the Symbolic Link to share the files and folders.

Your sample with "createsite.php" does not exists and can not work.
You have to use the JMS component to build the slave site.
