How to connect tables for User Sharing? 12 Years, 12 Months ago Karma: 0
Hi,

i created a slave site along the tutorial No. 9 that uses the master-DB.

My aim was to share the users between the master and the slave.

In the master-db there are now the following 4 tables for user:

1) "mpm_users": the former table of the master-db after renaming the prefix (from "jos_users"

2) "csr_users": the new table of the slave "csr"

3) "jos_users": the automatically built user table

4) "bak_users": the Backup

Studying the documentation and tutorial No. 16, it seems that user sharing is only possible between 2 slaves.

Is there no solution for to share users between the master and the slave?

Thanks, Mark

If you want to share the users between website, follow the tutorial video 16.

Once a "fresh" website is created, you can NOT convert the standalone users into shared users.
You have to share the users when you create the slave site like illustrated in video 16
www.jms2win.com/en/tutorial#jms12x-16

You can share the users with the master.
In this case, in the video 16, consider the "slave 1" as the master.
Therefore, in the JMS template rule, select the master instead of the "slave 1" to replicate the master and share its users.

You can have plenty and not only 2 websites that share the same slave site.
So you can share the users between
Master and slave 1
Master and slave 2
Master and slave n

This also mean that this share
Slave 1 and slave 2
Slave 1 and slave n
Slave 2 and slave n

Hi Edwin,

I today configured a template, that replicates from the master_db.

(See www.masterplan.de/120123_screenshot_template_.gif)

But when I try to run the template

(see www.masterplan.de/120123_sitemanager_new.gif )

there always appear a error message

(see www.masterplan.de/100123_error_message.gif )

What I am doing wrong?

Thanks, Mark

By the way:

In the "sharing tab" of the "template"-menu I choose kunena NOT to share, since I want to build in each slave-site an OWN INDEPENDENT forum.

To what users will the kunena-forum in the (new) slave site refer?

Note: I will share Community Builder User among all master-/slave-sites - will the new kunena-forum therefore refer to the users from the community builder-shared users?

In the "share_master" template, you make a mistake in the "deploy folder".
You put {site_id} and this is the {site_dir}

{site_dir} correspond to the physical path of the domain {site_url}/multisites/{site_id}

This explain the error that you have with the "open_basedir" that verify that you have the permission to access the directory. {site_id} is not a directory.
