Hi Guys, I just bough the menu sharing component. Adn installed it, how do I get existing slave sites to use the component without recreating them ?

I tried installing the component but it wont install in my slave site.

My slave sites are exact copies of the manin site.

O.k. So now I have picked up another problem. I created a new slave site to test the functionality of the menu component. My master site and slave site does not share the same template, styles and colors differ from slave site to slave site.

SO if I use the menu component and specify a menu item that should be shared between the main site and slave site it shows the mainsite template instead of keeping the slave site template... ?

anyone know of a fix or did I waste my money on this component and it is useless to me?

1) To install the "Multisites Menu Item" into the slave site, you can use the JMS Tool menu and just select the "install" action in the slave site and click on the "execute" button.

If you want to replace existing menu item with the "multisites menu item", you have to rebuild them.

2) Concerning the sharing the "/templates" directory, check the "JMS Template rule" that you created to build the slave site and verify that you have select the "special copy" action for the "/templates" directory.
See also the tutorial video 0.b slide 34 that show the different possibilities concerning the setup of the "/templates" directory.

If you want to have a specific "/templates" directory in a slave site, get inspired of the tutorial video CP-05
