Restoring Slave Site from backup as Standalone 13 Years, 5 Months ago Karma: 0
Hi - I'm planning on using JMS Multi sites with each slave site having its own separate database.

I was just wondering, when akeeba runs a full site backup - including data, configuration, files etc.

Would it still be possible for a slave site backup to be installed on another machine and be extracted from the backup archive using Kickstart or something, without having to install the Master site?

Each slave site would have its own version of Akeeba and backed up to the cloud.

The ideal setup for me would be for the backup archive to copy everything in the slave site as if it was an actual site and also to be able to restore the slave site as a standalone if need be.

Would this be possible or would backup need to copy the entire environment including the master site?

Thanks

All the best

We never succeed in using Akeeba backup to do such thing.
We always doing backup manually as explained in the FAQ.

If you want to convert a slave site into a standalone website, you have to backup the master. Once restore on the other machine, uninstall JMS and after restore the slave site DB and update the configuration.php to provide the connection on the slave site DB.
