What is the best practice when starting a fresh install?


A. Install the additional templates (RocketTheme: Tachyon) and extensions (JomSocial) into the master template prior making any slave sites

B. Duplicate slave sites, then install additional templates and extensions into the master. Then push the changes into the slaves sites.



I will be using the same template (Tachyon) and JomSocial on all slave sites (but will setup custom template folders and custom image folders on all sites).

If you want create fresh slave site with specific "images and templates" folder then you have to create a JMS Template rule in which you put the action = "copy" for the "images and templates" folders (in the folders and files tab).
So that, you will have a new directory structure that will have plenty of symbolic link except for the images and templates folders (as you put the action = copy).
