I have followed the tutorial for front-end site creation and it does not work. It says that it is creating the site but then it never does. It never gives me a confirmation message after the "Please wait while creating the site....". After the message goes away, it just stays on the page with the form for creating a new site.

Perhpas you should check if you have a timeout in your PHP environment.
Also check that you don't have a fatal error reported in the "error_log".
When you go in the back-end, do you see a definition for the slave site ?

I checked and there are no errors in the error log. There does not seem to be any timeout anywhere... Not exactly where I would check for that but I dont see any timeout in my htaccess file, no php.ini in the root directory, and nothing of interest in the error logs concerning the multisites component or timeout.

Which version of Joomla and Jms multisite are you using ?
