TOPIC: Change the domain name of our master site
#6179
Change the domain name of our master site 13 Years, 11 Months ago Karma: 0
Hi,

First of all; thanks for a great component. It has saved and still saves us for a lot of time.

This is probably a quite stupid question but I'm terrified of messing anything up, so better safe than sorry. We would like to change the domain name of our master site. Is it only to assign a new domain to the web root and remove the old one in the administration area of our host? Or will this mess anything up? (Our new domain which we want to be the domain of the master site has never been a slave site before - I guess that in case could mess things up)

Best regards, Jon

Any domain that is not present in the list of slave site is automatically considered as a master. So you can define a new domain in your Server that is assigned to your current master "document root" directory.
