Is it necessary to install the extensions in the master site with the core installer, or is it OK to use a quick installer like Intellispire's Installer

In other words, does the code need to apply patches during the install process, and you an only trap that during the default install, or can extensions/modules and their code and tables be added by any method, and should work?

You probably can use this extension in the master only.
Just becarefull that this extension seems have redevelopped the Joomla installer and therefore the patches installed by JMS Multsites are not applied to this extension.

If you try using this extension in a slave site, I can not predict the result.
I suggest that you do the test and that you post the resutl later in the forum.

OK, Thanks, Edwin. For now, I am still in the steep part of the learning curve, and don't want to do anything to make things more complicated.

I do find when doing single sites, though, it's convenient to be able to install JCE, Extplorer, CB, etc. with one click each.

I'll plan to come back to this.
