TOPIC: Can I share a menu?
#5477
Can I share a menu? 14 Years, 2 Months ago Karma: 1
I was wondering if I could share a menu? I would like to share the "user menu" so that if I make additions or changes to the site and need to add or delete or change a menu item for my client's front-end access that it would update all sites at once. Instead, I have to go into each site and make tedious changes! This is a lot of work. Is there a way to share all menu's or specific menus?

Thanks.

No you can not share a menu.
The only thing that is possible is to use the "Multisites Menu Item" that allow sharing the menu item (not the full menu).

This Multisites Menu Item allows to compute dynamiaclly the real menu item depending on the current value defined in the select website.

Thanks for responding but I checked the product page out and I can't tell what it does. The description does not explain well what the product does. I think it's because your English is not the best so it's hard to explain. A demo of how it works would be nice. Is there a video?

NO I don't have video.

This is very simple.
Let imagine that you have a site A (www.sitea.com) where you have a menu item #3 = index.php?something

The Multisites Menu Item that would be present in site B that is connected on site A with menu item #3 will result to compute dynamically the URL www.sitea.com/ index.php?something

So if you change the definition in the Site A item #3, it is automatically updated in Site B
