TOPIC: Pre-Sale Question

Pre-Sale Question 14 Years, 7 Months ago Karma: 0
Hello, I'm hoping that your component is what I need for my site.

My situation is that I have a main site propagated with articles that I would like accessible to subdomains and have each of the subdomains have a unique front-page and unique "localized" information all while sharing the same "look". Is your component what I'm looking for?

Thank you for your information and help.

I've read all of the documentation, and yet I'm still not clear as to if this component will do what I need. Just to be clear, I have a news type site with a main site (www.mysite.com) that will have localized "chapters"(chapter1.mysite.com, chapter2.mysite.com etc). I would like the frontpages of these chapters to have "their" articles and localized info and have all access to the articles on the main site (including menus etc). I just want to make sure that this component will be what I need.

If I understand correctly, you want something similar to the case described in the tutorial video 0.b slide 41 to 44.
In other word, you want to have website where you could have some "common" articles and other websites that read theses common articles.

In the sample that we provided in the video, we taken the case where we have a national published and sub-sites that are specialised by categories.
In your case the "chapter".

So you could use the "article sharing for JMS" to be able read the articles coming from any website defined in JMS.

Remark: This works with menu item where you select the "multisites article" type.
You can not merge in the same content (body) page both "common" and specific articles.
We don't have a "multisites articles module".
Something that you could do is to display in the body the "common articleis" and perhaps use a module to display the "local" or specific articles.
