TOPIC: Can reach back-end (please help)
#3681
Can reach back-end (please help) 14 Years, 9 Months ago Karma: 0
So I installed a new slave site. There was some problem with the admin I registered for it and stupidly I started deleting the site manually instead of just deleting it in the component. This resulted in files in the master site being deleted for some reason. So I uploaded the files from a backup I did yesterday. No the front-end is on again, BUT I can't get to the back-end. When trying to reach it I get redirected to the front-end.

I know this is all my fault but why did files in the master site get deleted when I deleted the multisites/sitename folder? And why can't I reach back-end?

I'd be really happy if someone could help me with this so I can continue what I really want to do, install a slave site.

I don't know how you have deleted the files and folders.
Normally, you would have deleted Symbolic Links and not the master files and
folders.
As you did it manually, I don't know where you go in the directory and what
you have done.
I don't know which tool you have used.
Did you use a SSH terminal or a FTP tool or something else.
The delete of the original directory may be resulting of the tool you have
used to delete the directory.

I don't know if your "back-end" problem occurs on your master website or in
the slave site.

When you say that you reach the "front-end", which one.
Are you redirected on the master "front-end" when you try to login in the
slave site back-end.
If this is the case, perhaps that the slave site is not defined.

If you want that we investigate on your server, this is possible with our
billable support that you can order at
