TOPIC: New site based on template parameter

New site based on template parameter 14 Years, 10 Months ago Karma: 1
Hi guys,

I have a single template which takes one parameter. I made a parameter called siteType which gives 3 choices:

Property Site
Raw Land Site
Agent Website

They all use the same template but based on what is selected, it will show a different navigation with slightly different layout options, etc.

I would like to know if its possible when creating a slave site that I can choose from these parameters? Or is there a way where I can make a slave site, then change all the options to be for the "Agent Website" and then make clones off of that? I'm not sure how to do this.

Dear Buddy, I don't really understand your question.

All I can tell you is that in JMS, you can defined several JMS templates that correspond to a same group.
So that when you go in the front-end to create the slave site, you have a combo-box where you can select which JMS templates you want.
You can give them a title and a description.

Once the user has selected the JMS template then the website can be created.

This give your list of 3 choices.
Just create 3 JMS templates corresponding to each scenario.

HI Edwin,

I created another template based off of a slave site with all my changes. One of those changes that is most important, is keeping the params.ini in the templates folder. However, when I create the site, the params.ini defaults to the 'Master' sites and not the slave sites params.ini which are set how I want this group to look.

Here is a video I made of it:

Please let me know what I can do.
