I've set up JMS 1.2.19 on a development environment in a intranet. When I create a slave site and access it's admin area, I appear to be in the admin area of the master site.

My URL's to access the admin area:
Master: http:// devarea/joomla/administrator
Slave: http:// devarea/joomla/multisites/slave/administrator

Can this be related to the "localhost" issue? My domain name does not contain a ".com" or other extension.

Note: the actual slave site is a true different site, it has its own tables in MySql, but how to access the admin panel?

Effectivelly.
When working on a local environment the HTTP protocol does not contain all the information required to make JMS working.
This is the reason why we have put in place a work arround to allow develop and test in a local environment.
An alternate solution on a local environment is to try using different IP address but I can not guarantee you that the HTTP protocol will be filled with the appropriate information as it is when working on internet.
