I had JMS installed on an old J! session (in subfolder of public_html) which I have now deleted - almost. there are a few JMS related folders which I cannot delete.

all folders have permissions set to 755; templates folders have 777

the folder structure that cannot be deleted looks different in ftp client vs eXtplorer

attempting to delete any of the folder returns error: unable to read directory

inside templates folder is a file 'system' which when trying to delete returns the error: file does not exist

any chance you could help me figure how to delete these folders?

I don't know the extplorer tool implementation and this looks like a bug in this extension.
If you want to delete folders or files, why don't you use an FTP tool or an terminal like SSH on your server.

Perhaps that extplorer is not able to manage the Symbolic Links correctly and the permission that are attached to the files and folders.

extplorer is a joomla extension that lets you view your file structure on the server (shared hosting here); it also allows to edit permissions - the only way of doing that with my account

sounds like I'd better contact my host then...



on a totally different note: while I'm subscried to my threads in the forum and the email addy I entered is valid I do not get any email notifications about new posts. is this as intended?
