What do you mean by sync the master templates ?

If your question is related to the joomla templates located in the /templates directory then the answer is that you need to share the /templates directory.
To do that, use the Symbolic Link to share the /templates directory.
Go in the JMS template rule and setup the "folder and files" tabs with the action = "special copy" for the "templates" directory.

On joomla 1.5, when a directory is shared, it is automatically detected by the other websites that share this directory.

On Joomla 2.5, joomla decided to store a copy of the description of the template into the DB. Therefore, in dispite the fact that the directory is shared, you need to "discover" the template in the slave sites.
With JMS 1.3, we have added the possibility to install and propagate the "templates" to the children of a website. So you can easily declare it and propagate the installation.
