Joomla 2.5.7 update 12 Years, 3 Months ago

Hi Edwin,
We now have JMS Multisites running with a master site and six slave sites. Today I noticed that a new version of Joomla, 2.5.7, is available (we have 2.5.6). I just want to confirm the upgrade procedure:
* Uninstall JMS patches
* Update Joomla on the master to 2.5.7
* Re-install JMS patches
Is this correct? Also, should I update now, or will a new 1.2.x version of JMS Multisites be released because of potential changes in Joomla 2.5.7?
Thank you,
Chris

Based on my preliminary test, I would say that you can update joomla.
It is not required to uninstall the JMS patches.
Once joomla is update, you will receive an error to access JMS but you can go directly in the JMS / "check patches" submenu to re-install the missing patches.
By security, perform a backup before apply the update of joomla. (just in case).
I did the test with JMS 1.2.94.

Hi Edwin,
How's it look for updating to 2.5.8? We're currently using 1.2.93, but I'll probably update to 1.2.96 later today.
Thanks,
Chris

It would better to better to install JMS 1.2.96 that includes the "/installation" directory for joomla 2.5.8.
If you need to create new fresh slave site, just rename you current joomla /installation to let JMS install the latest one or just restore a joomla one from a joomla package.

Thanks Edwin. I installed 1.2.96, updated to 2.5.8, and then checked and re-installed the patches. All seems to be working perfectly.
