Hi,
Is it possible to make slave sites URL directly under the master site.
Like
www.MYSITE.com/slavesite1

and not:
www.MYSITE.com/multisites/slavesite1

I don't know how to make my subsites to act direcly under the mastersite.
Please help!

YES you can.
JMS does not create the "deploy directory" and assume it already exists.
You just have to create the directory "slavesites1" manually and ask JMS to deploy it in this directory.

This only work when Symbolic Link is allowed (Unix platfom). You just have to check that your Unix server accept the Symbolic Links. (See tutorial step 5 to 7). www.jms2win.com/tutorial
On Windows platform the Symbolic Links is not allowed.

Thanks!
I did as you said but got this error;

* JFolder::create: Could not create directory
* Unable to create the Site ID directory: [/local/multisites/site5]

I did as follow:
1- I manually made a dir in the root of my joomla (site5)
2- In the Site manage I wrote /local/site5 in the Deployed directory:

Something is wrong but what is it, I don't know. PLz help

NO it should work.

Something that seems bizare is the directory path that you have given [/local/multisites/site5]
Is this the correct path.

I have retested on my system and I have first created a directory in my master website called "book1" and later I have created a slave site into JMS with
- Site ID = book 1
- Domain = ....../book1
- and deploy directory = {root}/book1

It has succeeded.

So check that your path is correct.
In my case, I have used the keyword {root} that ensure to use the correct root path of the master website.

Thank you very much, it works!
I made 10 subsites and it seems OK

But every time I install a new subsite it copying all the other subsites content (which is perhaps just links, Symbolic Links) to the new created site. It seems very strange and I get a bunch of folders that appears as an endless loop. Should it be so or is it something I am doing wrong.

You can control which files and folders are replicated when using the "Website Template" file and folder panel.
There is one endless loop that is the multisites directory as it may be required that a slave sites have access to the JMS definition that are present in the multisites directory.

Whe deployed in a specific directory, you must consider that a slave sites see in its deployed directory exactly the same files and folders and it was in a fresh Joomla.
Therefore, you will see all the folders.

Perhaps you will have to ignore some directories in the "Websites Template" files and folder panel.

Remember that the "Website Template" is used to define the replication rules.
