checking site details (new) 16 Years ago Karma: 0
Hi there,
I am very new to this and am a little confused by the manual so I just wanted to ask a couple of questions to check what I am doing is correct.

Our site is www.communityhealth.co.nz and we want to use multi sites to run another site for which the sub domain name will be:
communitynurses.communityhealth.co.nz

So bascially my question is when completing the 'Site Details (new)' should the 'ID' be say: communitynurses and the within 'list of domain names' do i enter communitynurses.communityhealth.co.nz

???
I would really like your help.
Thanks very much.

Dear Sacha,
The site ID is a mnemonic that is use by you to retreive the slave site definition.
The sites ID is used as a directory name.
So you can not use special characters.
It is recommended to only use letters and digits without spaces or dot or any special characters.

For the simplicity, it is frequent to use a sites id that is a part of the domain name or sub-domain like the sample you have given.
So yes, you can define it like that.
