TOPIC: Installation using one domain name

Installation using one domain name 13 Years, 1 Month ago Karma: 0
I have a problem configuring multisite in entreprise level. If I have my domain name is abc.com as mastersite and then abc.com/site1 as slave1 and abc.com/slave2 and so on as copy slave sites. Now I dont want to add slave site as subdomain but as directory is it possible? ( abc.com/slave1 and not slave1.abc.com). I am hoping it is something in configuration but after reviewing of all your videos and documentation cannot figure out.

Yes you can create slave site into a subdirectory like abc.com/slave1

You just have to deploy the slave site into this directory and potential create the directory dynamically.

In manage site put
Site ID = slave1
domain = {site_url}/{site_id}
Deploy = {root}/{site_id}
Create directory = ON

If you want to replicate an existing website, also select a "template site" rule where you have setup the website to replicate.

Thanks for quick response.

After making changes of the setting as you suggested, I am getting this message

The site 'slave1' is deployed.
- You can now map your new domain (151.108.128.140:22410/slave1) to the directory
'local/apps/rxapi/apache/htdocs/sc17/slave1'.
- When the DNS will be updated with your new domain (perhaps you have to wait 24 hours),
you will can go to your new domain and Joomla will request you a new installation (as usual).
- Please use a new db prefix for each site and NEVER use 'jos' as prefix or if you want to keep 'jos' as prefix, create as many databases than you have sites.

but when go to
151.108.128.140:22410/slave1
it does not start the installation but i get this message

Index of /slave1
Parent Directory

and when i click to parent directory it goes to master site.

Check that you have the symbolic links created in the "slave1" directory.

If you see an empty directory, this means that you didn't got anything deployed in the directory or that you deployed in another directory that does not correspond to your URL.
