In your case, it seems that you have defined a slave site into a subdirectory and not have used a domain or a subdomain.
If this is the case and that you have configure the slave site like in tutorial video 9 the you don't have to setup the cPanel.

Give real description of your configuration.
Do you configure a domain (which name), or a subdomain
Which are the values that you have entered in the "AddOn domain" or the "Subdomain" configuration.
review they "document root" path that must be IDENTICAL to the value in the JMS deploy directory.
Both must have the same path.
This is clearly shown in the tutorial video CP-04

Here is what I currently have....I created a directory to deploy the slave site to...it is:

home/isurfwky/public_html/hostedhendo/isurfhendoslave


In my master site the isurfhendersonslave folder has the config.php file....however the isurfhendoslave directory is empty....I am not sure what I did wrong when trying to create the slave site.

I can't seem to correlate the directories you have in the demo to what I have and I am really confused.....it is just for the slave site.

I copied the config.php from the multisites/isurfhendersonslave folder to the

hostedhendo/isurfhendoslave folder but when I go to the master and try to create the joomla site all I am getting is the page showing index of/hostedhendo/isurfhendoslave

and then Parent Director
config.php

If you want to create a slave site into a subdirectory, you just have to copy/paste the value that are shown in the tutorial video 9

You DON'T have to copy files or other stuff outside the system.
You don't have to create directory. JMS do it for you.

I created the slave site into a directory and here is what I put in the values:

slave1 - Site ID
slave1 - site name
domain name - www.isurfwky.net/hostedhopkinsco/iSurfHo...Co/multisites/slave1

when I click on the domain name, this is what I get:
