TOPIC: How to not share images between sites?

I must still miss something somewhere.

BTW yes it is a unix system and I am root.

Here are the screenshots of what I currently understand.

Why can't I see the images/medias folders in the website creation? If I create the site with those parameters I get a new folder in the joomla_root/multisites folder but in this folder there is no images/medias/templates folder created.

I must be doing something wrong

To see the image and media field, you need to replicate the DB because those parameters are saved in the DB.
In your sample, you have selected a template ID that does not replicate any DB.
Therefore, you are not allowed to enter those parameters.

The access to the image and media folder is also available in standard joomla global configuration.

This is perfect! I am able to separate the images/medias files of the existing websites by copying the image folder of joomla into multisites/websitename and modifying the global settings of those.

I will have to try the "database replication" thing for the settings of images/medias automatically. What is copied when we use this feature? The complete original database with all Joomla! content?

Also, if I understand correctly, the "template" setting is not saved in the database as are the images/medias settings? I will be looking to see what I need to do to separate the templates of my current sites. Worst case I'll recreate them but I would prefer not doing this since there are "live" sites that would need to be recreated.

Thanks for your quick replies it is really appreciated!

This is Joomla that has design the fact that images and media folders are parameters in the DB.
In the case of themes (templates) there is nothing in the DBs except the fact that you can select a default template.
The fact that a template is present in the "/templates" directory is enought to make the template avaialble.

I've used the above procedure to not share images. However, when I try to use the slave website administration media manager to upload a unique image, the button to browse for the image doesn't work.

Any ideas?

Thank you in advance

I found the issue in a Joomla forum. I needed to disable the flash uploader in global configuration. You may delete this, I couldn't figure out how.

Effectivelly, the Joomla flash uploader may cause a problem.

For the other customers, I have just create a video that also show to create a slave site with speecific images, media and templates folders
See tutorial step 22
www.jms2win.com/tutorial
or directly the video at tutorial.jms2win.info/joomla/multisite-1...ges-media/index.html
