For some reason I can login as admin into the slave sites but when I use the same info on the master it does not let me login. I tried the forgot password but it will not send it to a super user. It's the same passwords right?

Verify the login name.
In the case where you share the users, verify that you are logged on the appropriate domain name.
In the case where you use the "Partial User Sharing", verify that the user is declared for the appropriate slave site.
