TOPIC: Cannot re-install plugin to slave site
#11634
Cannot re-install plugin to slave site 10 Years, 7 Months ago Karma: 0
Hi,

We're having trouble with Easyblog on our slave site.

The master site allows navigation to the full articles within Easyblog, but on slave sites, the read more links, and direct links to the articles within Easyblog result in a 404.

Reading from this forum, it seems we should be re-installing the Easyblog plugin into the slave sites. Is that correct?

We have tried to do this, but within the MultiSites config options, it seems the only option for a component or plugin is 'un-install'.

Thanks for any help anyone can give.

Regards,

James

Firstly, we had not created a new database for the site. We have now been able to re-install Easyblog.

Anyone else going through this, make sure you have the same version which is installed on the master, and installing from a directory means you have to unzip the plugin for it to work, otherwise it can't find the XML.

If the extension was already installed, the JMS tool will effectivelly only propose the "uninstall" option.

Based on your description, I suspect that the path (the link) attached to the button is wrong.

So verify the HTML source of both the master that is working and the slave site that is not working. You will probably have a wrong path that would explain the error 404.

If my hypothesis is correct, this might be due to a bug in Easy blog when computing the path for the button.

Send me the easyblog extension in the attachement of an email and also a detailled description on how to reproduce it.
