I work with
Joomla 2.5.4
Multisites V1.2.81

I made a new Joomla 2.5 installation on my root server. Then I installed Multisites. When the installation was completed I want to "Check patches installation". When I install the patches I got some errors.

Error during installation of the file "administrator/components/com_config/models/application.php"

One or more backup file is missing. The original file(s) can not be restored.

Joomla Multi Sites version: 1.2.81 (Latest available: 1.2.81)
Patches definition version: 1.2.80 (Latest available: 1.2.80)

It is no problem with the directory permissions, user- or usergroup rights.

I had the same problem.

From the patches screen, try to un-install the patches and then click to install the patches again.

That worked for me.

With the latest joomla 2.5.4, they changed one file that affect the JMS patches.

You need to use the latest JMS 1.2.82 and patch 1.2.81 to work with Joomla 2.5.4

We have installed Version 1.2.83 today.
At a new Joomla 2.5.4.

Sorry, I don't see any screenshot

If the error is
Error during installation of the file "administrator/components/com_config/models/application.php"

under joomla 2.5.4

Then this is fixed in the JMS 1.2.82 or higher

So cross-check or this is another error
